The Collie Eagles celebrated the start of the new South West Football League season with the annual season launch on Friday, April 6.
Players, coaches and volunteers from the club’s league, women’s, reserves and colts sides gathered to kick off the new season with a dinner.
New league coach Seth White said at the event that he was excited to being taking over the reins of the club.
“It’s obviously something I’ve thought about doing since I finished playing and I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.
White said the club’s expectation was to make the top five at the end of the season and play finals.
White also announced Matt Blackford would continue on as the Eagles’ longest serving captain, while Matt Michael, Corey Griggs, Adam Bignell and Teke Vernon would make the remainder of the leadership group.
Women’s coach Alan Fontana also announced Teah Hill would be the team’s captain in its inaugural year.
Fontana said the team’s vice-captains would be decided over the coming weeks.
