PINE HAULIERS MEAT PACK – April 26
Quite a few bowlers rolled up for the Wednesday meat pack and played triples.
All enjoyed the afternoon of bowls.
Winners: Trevor Welsh, Graeme Carter, Tom Gale with 6 points plus 16;
Runners-up: Gary Keep, Hans Wiggers, Ron Guilfoyle with 5 points plus 14.
Notice: To all meat pack players this will be now played at the time of 12.30pm and names in by then. Play will commence at 12.45 pm. No late entries.
MICK MURRAY 2 BOWL SINGLES – April 22
A good field of nominations for the two-bowl singles was played and completed last week.
The games were played in two divisions and sections of three for both divisions 13 up in both and the plates went to 11 up.
Good bowls was played by all players and good results.
Division 1: Winner: Phil Fettes; Runner-up: Brian Bass; Plate winner: Les McCamish.
Division 2: Winner: Glenice Kaurin; Runner-up: Barry Lowe; Plate: Len Flynn.
SOLARGAIN CHAMPIONSHIP FOURS LADIES – April 26
The ladies have just played their championship fours after a busy season.
Good bowls were played; everyone enjoyed the format
Winners: Lyn Mitchell, Vicki Daniel, Kath Cluning and Judy Saunders;
Runners-up: Heather Gibbs, Glenice Kaurin, Margaret Young, Maud Taylor.
PAST PRESIDENTS – April 6
The past presidents from the Collie Bowling Club and Bill Barrett (Brunswick) and Nick Hosking (Moodiarrup) joined with Tom Edwards and Kevin McKenzie to play in the game in Adelaide.
They went well on the Friday, in with a chance, then came back to the field and ended up eighth.
Thirty-eight sides who came from all over the Australia. Two years from now it will be held in Queensland on the Gold Coast.
McCAFE SCROUNGERS – April 29
A fairly good roll up of bowlers for the wind-up of the summer scroungers.
Commencing with the major scroungers and the odds and sods.
When that was completed, lunch, then this was followed by corner to corner and much fun and frivolity.
