YEAR 6
The Year 6 travelling side had their first home game against Dalyellup Purple on a very warm Saturday morning.
The young side opened their account first with a goal. Reid Becker was in everything, making things happen.
The midfield was again the deciding factor forcing the ball forward at every opportunity, creating many possibilities for the forwards to score. The quarter time score was 4.6 to 0.0.
The second quarter started much the same with fierce but fair tackling from the team. This was the highlight of our game with every player tackling.
Christian Roissetter led from the front as the day’s captain, playing an awesome game in all positions.
The back line consisting of William McIllree, Thomas Carter, Bryce Wood, Kade Wiggers, Cai Kenyon and Blair Scott held strong to keep the opposition scoreless for the entire first half. Half time score was 8.13 to 0.0.
After the half-time break, Dalyellup caught Collie on the hop and came out firing. Collie found themselves outscored by a more determined opposition.
The likes of Ethan Michalak, Hayden Foggarty, Max Ireland, Tom Bell and Alby Bebbington dug deep. The score 8.16 to 2.2.at three-quarter time.
The final quarter began better after a tune up from the coach. The aim for the final quarter was to pick up intensity and not be outscored.
In true Collie Eagle spirit the team responded and the pressure from the side got better and better. Final score: 11.21. 87 to 3.4. 22.
The goal kickers for Collie were Tom Bell 3, Kobe Mears 2, Alby Bebbinton, Reid Becker, Hayden Foggarty, Christian Roissetter, Tyson Washer, Ethan Michalak 1.

YEAR 7
The Y7 team continued their strong start to the 2018 season with another great win, this time by nine goals against Dalyellup Purple at home.
A fantastic display up forward from Devon Gooch five goals, and Deegan Cummings and Mitchell Simpson two goals each was too much for the opposition.
Final scores were Collie 11.15 to Dalyellup 3.6.
Award winners for the day were Mitchell Simpson, Marshall Putland and Blake Shepherd.
The Y7 team are travelling next week to Dunsborough to take on the Dunsborough Sharks.
YEAR 8
The Y8 team had a fantastic game of football against HBL Pride at home.
Unfortunately the boys went down by six points after being in front for the majority of the game.
Collie started off kicking the first four goals of the game and looked great, moving the ball effectively out of the centre by Robbie Chitty and Billy Barrett to Levi Cooper and Luke Watts up forward.
In the second quarter HBL came back hard at the Eagles and scores were level at half-time.
Collie again kicked away in the third quarter with a brilliant solo effort from Sye Saggers with a smother, and snapped goal the highlight of the day for the home team.
In the final quarter the HBL team came back at the Collie team again, Charlie Bell and Sheymus Carter worked tirelessly down back all game, but the Collie team’s fitness was not up to the same standard as the visitors and they were overrun.
Award winners for the game were Lewis Hordienko, Sye Saggers and Robbie Chitty.
Collie’s next game is at home against Dunsborough.
