A Collie man was given a six-month community order and $2000 in fines after pleading guilty to eight charges in the Collie Magistrates Court on May 16.
Brandon Lee Wallam appeared via videolink from Bunbury Regional Prison and pleaded guilty to charges of obstructing public officers and possessing cannabis.
He was also sentenced for six further charges of disorderly behaviour, assaulting a public officer, possessing drug paraphernalia, possessing cannabis, stealing and common assault that he had previously pleaded guilty to on April 12.
The charges stemmed from five separate incidents that had occurred in Collie and Roelands between January and May of this year.
Wallam’s lawyer Michelle Huber told the court the incident in Roelands, which resulted in the disorderly behaviour, obstruction and assault of a public officer charges, occurred after Wallam took an unknown pill.
Magistrate Brian Mahon took Wallam’s mental health issues into consideration when sentencing, but warned Wallam that any further violent offending would lead to imprisonment.
