Eric Annandale easily accounted for the rest of the field when he won last Saturday’s 18-hole stableford, sponsored by Bankwest.
“Bully” scored an impressive 39 points in the field of 50 players, four shots clear of his nearest rival, runner-up David Laird who scored 35 points.
Apart from the top two, the scoring by the remainder of the field could only be described as very mediocre at best.
Running third was Stephen Farquhar with 33 points, followed by Tony Barker-May, Darren O’Brien, Ray Alp, Bruce Roberts, Kalev Kutt and Graham Williams, all on 32 points.
The winner of the ladies competition was Shelley Barker-May, on 34 points from runner up, Bev Moyses, on 31 points.
Novelties on the day were supplied by Bankwest as well as some refreshments at the post game presentation.

Longest first putts – Ed Riley (6), Trevor Lawrence (9) and Shelley Barker-May (18).
Long drive on No.15 – Bruce Jackson.
Jay Robinson returned to his best form in last Tuesday’s 18-hole leisure day stableford event.
“Robbo” played an excellent round, scoring 41 stableford points, four shots better than runner up, Narrogin’s Bill Rybarczyk, who finished with 37 points.
Brett Hansen finished third, playing to his handicap to score 36 points, followed by Colin Giblett on 33 points, then Des Hebb, Tony Barker-May and Pat Coll each on 32 points.
Alan Kent was the day’s best vet, finishing with a score of 34 points.
Novelties went to Jim Moyses (4), John Wray (7), Ray Alp (9), Phil Warburton (14) and Trevor McCormick (18).
Ray Alp and Ron Annandale were both in good touch in last Thursday’s nine hole scroungers competition.
Both players returned the good score of 21 stableford points with Alp taking out first place on a spin.
In third place, on 19 points and also winning the best gross voucher for his par round of 36 off-the-stick was club champion Chris Stewart. Ed Riley won a voucher with his return of 16 points.
Novelties were won by Mark Malatesta (4), Graham Williams (6) and Chris Stewart (9).
This year’s Stoney Creek event was played last Sunday with 12 teams participating.
In beautiful weather conditions, the local team of Clayton Flynn, Regan Old and Kyle Hulls were the winners with a total score of 83 points.
Narrogin’s Wayne Francis, Bill Rybarczyk and Ryan O’Dea were runners up with 81 points, followed in third place by another Narrogin team in Wayne Palumbo, Shayne Boothey and Dayle Hamilton who finished with 80 points.
Post game refreshments and an Eagles victory capped off an enjoyable day’s golf.
This Saturday’s event will be an 18-hole stableford event, sponsored by Eric and Rhonda Annandale.
As per normal, nine-hole scroungers will take place today with leisure day next Tuesday.
