The club recently received a grant for a new steward’s tower, however required assistance to safely remove the original and rusted 35-year-old tower.
Synergy deployed four Muja Power Station employees – rigger Lee Chapman, crane operator Jock Scally, boilermaker Graeme Hall and supervisor Peter Calton – along with the machinery needed to complete the job.
Synergy group manager Rob Kruger was thrilled to support the club with its preparation for the biggest day on the local racing calendar.
“It was great to be able to assist in something that ultimately benefits not just the club but the entire town,” he said.
Collie Race Club chairman Robert Pimm welcomed the support from Synergy.
“Our club relies solely on the support of a small number of volunteers. It’s wonderful that we received support from the power station to help us complete this vital project in time for this year’s race day,” he said.
