The weather forecast and conditions did not look favourable for the Par event sponsored by The Collie Golf Club Ladies.
With the early rain scaring off the morning players a field of 32 competed in the afternoon.
Kevin Ireland found the conditions to his liking with his long drives off the tee and astute short game, Kevin clinched the win with +2 edging out the unlucky Tony Barker-May on countback who also had +2.
Peter Coombs and Alan Kent both had +1 and Clayton Flynn, Kim Metcalfe, John Williamson, Ray Cooper, Graham Williams, Joe Italiano all played to their handicaps to return square.

Tuesday saw a field of 30 compete for the Leisure Day trophy.
Darren O’Brien was the winner with a well compiled 36, beating Saturday’s winner Kevin Ireland on countback with 36 also.
Steven Ireland and Alan Kent had 35 apiece, followed in by Paul Moyses and Trevor McCormick on 34.
The best vet on the day went to Ray Cooper with 36 points.
Continuing the run of close events was Thursday scroungers.
Phil Eldridge with 21 points won the day from Jeff Crowe, Trevor Graham, Wayne Waywood and Alan Kent all on 20.
Mick Pokrywka, Alby Hunter, Chris Stewart, Greg Bell, Denis Cocker and Tony Barker-May rounded out the vouchers with 19.
Chris Stewart won the Gross with an even par round of 36.
A reminder the Club’s annual general meeting is being held on Sunday, October 28 at 10am. Committee members are needed. Those interested can find the nomination sheet in the clubhouse.
Also, save this Saturday’s date, October 20 for the presentation night. Tickets are available from the bar. The evening commences at 6pm for meals, with presentations starting at 6.30pm.
