A 40-year-old Collie woman has been granted a spent conviction after pleading guilty to a damage offence in the Collie Magistrates Court last week.
The woman did not appear in court on Wednesday, November 7, but entered an endorsed plea of guilty to the charge which stemmed from an incident on September 13.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Morrissey told the court on the woman had gotten into an argument with the victim over the phone at approximately 9am, before going to his house to continue.
While there, she called for the victim to come out the front and when she received no response, she attempted to kick in a door at the property.
The victim was not home at the time the offence occurred, with neighbours reporting the incident to police.
Magistrate Evan Shackleton fined the woman $500 and ordered her to pay $638 compensation for the damaged caused to the door.
He also granted a spent conviction as the woman had no prior criminal convictions and ‘was unlikely to commit another similar offence’.
