A 22-year-old Collie woman was fined $500 in the Collie Magistrates Court after being convicted of possessing drug paraphernalia.
Ceriese Kay MacBeath did not appear in the Collie Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 7 and was found guilty of one count of possessing drug paraphernalia in or on which there was a prohibited drug.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Morrissey told the court police had approached McBeath while she was sitting in a car in a vacant lot at the end of Wallsend Street at 10.30pm on May 25.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a glass smoking implement with traces of methamphetamine on it, which McBeath told police was not hers.
Sergeant Morrissey said subsequent forensic analysis showed McBeath’s DNA was on the implement.
Magistrate Evan Shackleton decided not to grant a spent conviction due to McBeath’s prior drug-related convictions.
