The Collie Bowling Club ladies division held its championship fours competition recently, which was sponsored by Archer and Sons Funeral Directors.
The winners were Kerry Scott (skip), Margaret Young (third), Kath McElroy (second) and Bev Old (lead).
Runner-up was the team which consisted of Rose Colgan, Karina Snow, Maud Taylor and Cheryl Brown.
Sponsors Brett and Rita Archer enjoyed lunch with the players and presented the awards.
Tuesday women’s pennants
November 13
The division two ladies travelled to Eaton for their pennants clash last week and they had a good win on all three greens.
Division two – Collie with 6 points 78 aggregate defeated Eaton on 0 points 33 aggregate.
H Gibbs, R Colgan, G Kaurin, B Old won 21 to 15; L Mitchell, K Cluning, K McElroy, E Hindle won 35 to 7; K Scott, K Snow, J Saunders, M Taylor won 22 to 11.
Saturday men’s pennants
Collie Bowling Club took on Eaton Blue in its South West League division one pennants match on Saturday, grabbing good wins on two rinks for a four-point victory.
The division two team visited Harvey with mixed results, losing on two rinks with close margins.
In division one, Collie is sitting fourth on the ladder with two wins and two losses, while division two is yet to grab a win.
Division 1 – Collie 5 points 60 aggregate defeated Eaton Blue 1 point 69 aggregate.
G Keep, G Carter, R Ferris, B Butcher won 21 to 16; Ross White, A Collins, G Old, W Stocks won 30 to 15; T Edwards, J McElroy, J Crowe, R Colgan lost 9 to 23.
Division 2 – Collie 1 point 55 aggregate lost to Harvey 5 points 59 aggregate.
K McKenzie, R Garner, L McCamish, V Brojanowski lost 13 to 15; R Guilfoyle, S Matthews, J Waywood, I Corley won 24 to 21; J Tyler, M Mellor, H Wiggers, J Bell lost 18 to 23.
Tuesday men’s pennants
November 13
The division one Collie team played at home against the Capel team but unfortunately it resulted in a loss.
Division three Collie Blue were also on the home greens to the Dunsborough team while the third division Collie White hosted the Eaton team.
Both division three teams had good wins.
Division one – Collie 1 point 31 aggregate lost to Capel 3 points 41 aggregate.

Division three – Collie Blue 4 points 45 aggregate defeated Dunsbough 0 points 33 aggregate.
T Gale, P DeBondi, M MIller, D Burgess won 21 to 14; H Wiggers, J Godfrey, B Mitchell, N Roberts won 24 to 19.
Division three – Collie White 4 points 55 aggregate defeated Eaton 0 points 25 aggregate.
I Corley, B Lowe, I Bushell, J Stone won 33 to 9; K Richards, L McCamish, J Bell, G Saggers won 22 to 16.
Pine Hauliers Meat Pack
November 14
There was a small field of bowlers for the meat pack last week but all who attended had good games.
Tom Gale and Phil Warburton finished with 4 points plus 21 to take the win while Kevin McKenzie and Len Flynn were runners-up with with 4 points plus 17.
In third place was Graeme Old and George Saggers with 4 points plus 14.
Next Week
This Saturday, November 25, at 10am, there will be bowls with the Rolling Wheels caravan travellers if anyone wishes to play.
The visitors are travelling the South West and would like a game on the Saturday so come along and enjoy their company.
