Collie community groups making a difference to the community have been urged to apply for support funding under Yancoal Australia’s Community Support Program.
The program, run by Premier Coal’s parent company Yancoal Australia, provides funding of up to $25,000 to community groups in the areas of health, social and community, environment, education and training.
Premier Coal operations manager Jim Falconer said he was hoping to see locals to raise their hand for assistance by applying for funding.
“Via our Community Support Program, Premier Coal has the opportunity to assist those locally‐focused programs and initiatives capable of making a real contribution to the continued growth and sustainability of the region,” he said.
“In the past, Yancoal funding has enabled the development and implementation of environmental projects, education, training and employment assistance initiatives, sponsorship of key community events, the purchase of much needed equipment and helped support disadvantaged groups within the community.
“A lot of fantastic work has been done by our community support program recipients to date and it’s great to see the positive impact they have made to our community.”
Some community groups to previously receive funding under the program include the Collie RDA, the PCYC and the Collie Motorplex.
The program is open for applications until January 31, 2019. For more information or to apply, visit www.premiercoal.com.au.
