As we draw close to the end of year break our little athletes did not disappoint with seven new records being broken.
Forty athletes competed on Friday, December 7 and a huge 74 personal bests smashed, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
This week’s records go to:
U6 Mya Nelson in vortex breaking her own record with a throw of 7.91m (previous record 7.75m);
U7 Billy Stewart broke a seven-year-old record in 60m hurdles with a run of 12:74s (previous record 12:96s);
U8 Stephanie Lehoczky broke two records; her 70m sprint which was a 12-year-old record, with a time of 12:06s (previous time 12:46s) and the 60m hurdles in 13:07s (previous time 13:08s);
U10 Marni Bercene in her 70m sprint with a time of 12:76s (first record for this event);
U11 Gemma Buckle in discus with a massive throw of 27.15m breaking her own record (previously 26.12m);
U11s Logan Gregory and Toby Carr both broke Toby’s previous record of 13.84m in discus, Toby’s throw of 16.09m and Logan will hold the new record of 20.07m. Well done to all of you.
The following athletes are to be commended earning three personal bests this week: Lucas Stewart, Noah Carter, Taylor Brown, Cooper Saunders, Devon Lackworthy-Darke, Blayz Hunt and Matilda Lemon.
Logan Gregory earned four personal bests.
This Friday, December 14, is the last competition until school resumes.
Several athletes will be competing in different events in Albany, Bunbury and Perth over the holidays and we wish them all the very best of luck.
