The Shire of Collie council have appointed councillor Gary Faries to be a representative on the Myalup Wellington Technical Advisory Group.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development invited the council to have a representative on the group which will provide specialist advice to the state government's steering committee on the project.
The Myalup Wellington project is multi-million dollar investment to provide infrastructure that will see highly saline water extracted from the Collie River East Branch and treated before being returned upstream.
The aim of the project is provide better water security for farmers in the region.
