Writing Workshop: Enthusiastic local writers had the opportunity to listen to a self-published author last week when Karina McRoberts from York visited the West Arthur CRC.
Karina who publishes hard copy books and also in online platforms talked about the writing process and how to get your writing out there to sell.
There was a lot of positive discussion in the workshop and many people left the workshop with ideas of their own percolating for a best seller!
Faces of West Arthur at Yagan Square: Locals have been enjoying their 15 minutes of fame with those who had their photo taken for the Faces of West Arthur exhibition last year now having those photos up in an exhibition on the digital tower in Yagan Square in Perth.
There are six different segments containing the photos on at different times during the day. The display finishes this week.
Moodiarrup Dance: The next dance at the Moodiarrup Hall will be on March 30 at 8pm.
The band is Campfire Country and entry is $10.

World’s Greatest Shave: All welcome to the Darkan Sports Club on March 30 for the World’s Greatest Shave and help raise some funds to fight leukaemia.
Special guest will be Jack Boyle who is celebrating one year post transplant from his own fight with leukaemia. Meals will be on sale at $15 for adults and $5 for young children.
The fun and the shaves kick off at 5.30pm with dinner served from 6.30pm; followed by an auction later in the night. All funds raised will go to the Leukaemia Foundation.
Works and Projects: Maintenance graders will be working in south west and south east areas of the Shire.
Works planned for this fortnight include cement stabilising various sections on Boyup Brook Arthur and Collie Changerup roads.
Community Sporting Funding: The 2019/20 February Small Grants round of the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund is now open for projects with a value of up to $200,000.

Annual Electors Meeting: The West Arthur Electors Meeting will be on March 19 at 6pm in the Council chambers.
The purpose of the meeting is to accept the Annual Report for the financial year ending 30 June, 2018 and other general business.
A copy of the Annual Report is available from the Shire office or website; a copy may be emailed or posted on request. Please ensure questions are submitted in writing to the Shire office by no later than March 12.
