Local lad Jack Costa has been selected as goal keeper for a tour of the United Kingdom in early May.
Jack was chosen with 14 other like-minded players to experience what it would be like to be professional soccer player.
With the catch phrase, "Be the best you can be", these young South West players will get a chance to experience:
* Four matches against English Academies;
* A visit to a Premier League Academy Training Ground;
* Cheering at an English Premier League Match and a Wembley Match.
They will also have full use of the facilities at the Cambridge United Football Club and get to visit St Georges Park.
Then the last couple of days will allow the boys some rest and relaxation time to explore London.
Opportunities such as this don't come around very often, especially for country kids.
Jack will be proudly representing Collie.
Power vs Hay Park
Collie Power Soccer Club began their 2019 season on Sunday, April 7 with the women's squad travelling to Bunbury to take on Hay Park.
The Power defied the tipsters predictions with a 4-nil victory over Hay Park.
Midway into the first half saw midfielder Kirsten Thomson took a shot from long range which Hay Park's keeper tried to deflect, but it ricocheted from her hands and over the line, giving Collie and welcome lead early on.
Not long after this, Sarah Vansnick fought her way past Hay Park's defence and slotted a second goal closing the first half with Collie in the lead 2-nil.
The second half's play certainly heated up as Hay Park attempted to fight their way through Collie's stern defence.
Early into the half, Vansnick scored another goal, putting more pressure onto Hay Park as Collie now stood at a 3-nil lead.
A scramble in the six-yard box saw defender Alison McSporran rush in and prevent a sneaky goal from putting a blemish on goalie Bonny Berridge's clean sheet.
Following a brilliant through ball from midfielder Jade Martens, young left winger Lacey Hale showed her speed and skill by taking the ball into the centre of the box and placing it past the keeper with ease, securing the Power's win with a 4-nil lead.
It was great to see brilliant camaraderie, communication and enthusiasm from the Collie Power women's team this game, especially with a lot of new players making their debut while setting a new standard for the remainder of the season.
