Practices makes Perfect for Mick Pokrywka
Mick Pokrywka was the popular winner on Saturday for the Freo Crane Group sponsored event.
Mick who has been putting in a lot of time on the fairways recently was rewarded for his efforts with the narrowest of victories recording 37 to be one point clear of his rivals.
In a field of 43, Colin Giblett won the countback for the second place trophy edging out Ian Stewart to third place with both on 36.
Wayne Waywood was the unlucky golfer also on 36 just missing out on a trophy from Freo Crane Group.
Ray Cooper and Jim Larsen both had 35 followed by Graham Williams 34, Joe Italiano and Tom Chappell 33, Ron Annandale, Alan Kent, Wayne Barnett and Paul Moyses all on 32.
The sponsors saw fit to put on extra novelties giving everyone a chance of taking home a prize.
Deb Vanvollenstee was rewarded for being leading lady with 30 points.
Leisure Day
On Tuesday 33 players went to battle for the Club sponsored Leisure Day Trophy.
Bruce Roberts played extremely well to be the tearaway winner with 41.
Michael Jack played to his handicap and had 36 followed by Dean Rakich and Jay Robinson 35, Bruce Miller, alone on 34, Bill Rybarcyk and Trevor McCormick both on 33 were also rewarded.
The best vet on the day went to the evergreen Phil Warburton with 35 points.
Scroungers
Thursday Scroungers attracted a good field of 40 golfers.
In a close contest Danny Cheng won the spin of the wheel from Jim Larsen and Alby Hunter with all on 20.
Fred Bronickis, Darren Obrien and Colin Naysmith all had 19 followed by Hugh Annandale and John Williamson on 18.
Chengy got the double taking out gross honours as well with a one over par 37.
