Flag poles will be installed outside South-West hospitals to allow them all to proudly fly Australian and Aboriginal flags at the entrance.
The WA Country Health Service initiative has already seen Donnybrook Hospital presented with two flags by Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray.
Other hospitals set to receive the flags include Collie and Harvey.
Donnybrook Hospital clinical nurse manager Pauline Nicholls and clinical nurse Dawn Dodd accepted the flags on behalf of the hospital.
Ms Nicholls said in a state government statement the hospital would consult with local Aboriginal elders about the appropriate location and positioning of the flags.
A Welcome to Country ceremony would take place when the flags are erected, she said.
Mr Murray said the flags signified national pride.
"The Australian and Aboriginal flag represents the freedoms and liberties that we all enjoy and I'm proud to see this initiative take place," Mr Murray said.
