The Shire of Collie and Friends of the Collie River have combined forces to create positive change and help the environment.

Both groups headed up community tree planting days on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, July 7.
Braving overcast conditions, participants also conducted maintenance and litter collection.
Community members from all over the region worked to plant 15,000 seedlings and trees in 2018.
Volunteers from St Brigid's Catholic School, Wilson Park Primary School, Collie Scout Group, South 32 Worsley Alumina, Premier Coal, and the local community all pitched in.
South 32 provided funding to further assist the campaign.
The initiative was set up to help improve the Collie River's health, attract locals and tourists to walk trails and cycle paths, and to increase swimming, fishing, and canoeing in the area.
In celebration of National Tree Day, the next tree planting/revitalisation session will take place on Saturday, July 27.
Volunteers will be required to meet at the East End Bridge carpark at 9am, and must bring hats and gloves.
The event will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity to chat with other attendees in a relaxed atmosphere.
