Crime report: Man arrested, charged over stabbing in Cunningham Crescent

A 52-year-old man was charged with unlawful wounding following a stabbing in Cunningham Crescent, on Wednesday, July 3.

Suffering non life-threatening injuries, the 45-year-old male victim was airlifted to Perth.

The alleged offender turned himself in to police on Friday, July 5 and will face court later this month.

Collie Police Officer in Charge Heath Soutar thanked the public for their assistance in the matter.

Thieves struck the manager's office at Collie Central Shopping Centre last week. The culprits forced open the door before stealing an iPad and keys.

A handbag, cash, and keys were stolen from a Wylam Road residence on Wednesday afternoon. The handbag was later recovered.

A shoplifting incident occurred at 7.30pm on Friday night. The offender allegedly took several items, scanned them through the checkout, and left without paying.

In a separate incident, police stopped a black Holden Commodore on Steere St.

The 26-year-old male driver will face judicial process for possessing drug paraphernalia.

On Sunday, thieves broke into a Benwell Place home and stole a motor vehicle, which was found near the LIA the next day.

A 20-year-old female was allegedly involved in a shoplifting incident at Coles, at 3.40pm on Tuesday afternoon.

She was charged with stealing, after being spoken to by police.

That same day, thieves stole one mattress and a TV from another home on Benwell Pl.

Throughout the past week, Collie officers carried out 77 jobs and put six people through the lock-up.

Celebrating NAIDOC Week, police will hold a barbecue at Central Park, from 11am to 1pm, this Friday.
