A big field of 58 golfers or 29 pairs took part in the 4 Ball better ball Event sponsored by Challenge Chemicals.

Doug Crowe and Brian Banks paired together perfectly to storm home with 48 points to claim first place.

After some encouraging words from Doug and some red hot form of Banger in the last few holes the pair scored an incredible 27 on the front 9 to secure the win.

The big hitting duo of Ash Stewart and Michael Dowling returned a fine 45 for the runners up trophy and John Souter-Robertson and Tony Barker-May claimed third place trophy with a well-crafted 44.

David Laird and Gary Old, Kevin Ireland and Paul Moyses, Colin Giblett and Mick Finlay all returned 43 followed in by the pairs of Clive Pullan and Ian Stewart, Doug Ingraham and Jeff King, Greg Moyle and Trevor McCormick, Phil Warburton and Fred Bronickis, Ken Tate and Darren O'Brien all on 42.

Chris Stewart played hole number 1 extremely well by getting an Eagle.

On Tuesday, 31 players played in the club sponsored Leisure Day.

A three way countback was needed to get the winner.

Coming out on top was Kim Metcalfe followed by Colin Giblett and Warren Hann all on 38. Phil Warburton had 36 followed by Trevor McCormick, Kevin Ireland, Jay Robinson, Ray Cooper and Jim Larsen all on 35.

The best vet on the day went to John Wray with 36 points.

Thursday Scroungers was also a keenly contested affair with Clive Pullan pipping Jim Larsen on a spin of the wheel with both on 22. Brian Banks had 21 followed in by Gordon Bailey, Terry Reeves on 20, Gary Old, Mark Malatesta, John Wray and Steve Ireland all on 19.

The ladies contested a 4BBB sponsored by Lynn Simmonds on Wednesday.

The pairing of Rhonda Annandale and Bev Moyses returned 44 for the win followed by Deb VanVollenstee and Kath Alcorn, Shelley Barker-May and Dot Lawrence both pairs on 43.
