Local Bowler conquers Everest: John Wilkie was part of the winning team of the Everest of Bowls Pro-Am recently at Dudley Park Bowling and Recreation Club. John was fortunate to win his entry to the competition via a raffle and be partnered with Jesse Norhono, a NSW bowler who plays internationally; his most recent international success gold in the 2017 Hong Kong International Singles and Pairs events. John and Jesse played in sync very well for such a short acquaintance, and won their pool in the Everest Pro-Am, which had 48 teams overall, and this gave them the win in the whole event.

Lake Towerrinning Stakeholders Meeting: The Shire will be holding a meeting of Lake Towerrinning stakeholders in the next two to four weeks. The meeting allows stakeholders to discuss the current care and management of the Lake and to review long term plans. Persons interested in attending may register with Nicole Wasmann at the Shire.

Darkan Police News: The Williams Police are requesting assistance from the public after numerous burglaries on commercial properties in the Shire of West Arthur. The most recent incident was at the Darkan Agri Services on Burrowes Street just after 4am on October 19 when offenders smashed a window to gain access to the premises and stole various items. Anyone with information or CCTV of the area is requested to contact the Williams Police on 9885 1100.
Singing Group: There is a new casual singing get-together-group in Darkan meeting weekly (at this stage) at the West Arthur CRC on Wednesday nights from 7-9pm. Open to adults of any ability. For more details contact Pam Stockley on 9736 1780.

B. McGowan, K. Bunce, H. Lubke and G. Prowse won 25/18. I. Woodruff, A. Putland, R. Harrington and M. Boxall won 23/22. On October 19 it was Darkan vs Wagin at Darkan. Darkan won 6/0; 105/52. D. Buller, P. Wharton, W. Duffield and M. Wunnenberg won 40/12. B. McGowan, K. Bunce, H. Lubke and G. Prowse won 39/20. I. Woodruff, A. Putland, R. Harrington and M. Boxall won 26/20.
The Club Fours Championship was won by Danny Buller, Kim Bunce, Ian Woodruff and Judy Wunnenberg. Runners-up were Murray Boxall, Ray Harrington, Arthur Putland and Bruce McGowan. Congratulations to all involved.
