David Laird and Mick Pokrywka combined well to win the 18-hole 4BBB stableford last Saturday, sponsored by Neil and Lesley Motion. On a very hot November day, the winning pair scored 46 points, one shot better than runners-up, Clayton Flynn and Brad Swan who finished with 45 points. Kalev Kutt and Brett Smith also finished on 45 points but were relegated to third place by way of a countback. Dean Rakich and Ash Hollins finished fourth with their score of 44 points, then, with 43 points each came the pairings of Kim Metcalfe and Rob Cavanagh, Alby Hunter and Chris Stewart and Bruce Jackson and Mick Finlay.
A highlight of the day was Chris Stewart's eagle three on the par five first hole.

Collie Golf Club held it's annual presentation night last weekend. Fifty people attended and all enjoyed the function. Club Person of the Year was won by Steven Ireland. Other winners on the night pictured right and on the back page.
Scroungers: Paul Goodwin and Graham Williams each scored 23 points in last Thursday's nine-hole scroungers competition. In a mulligans only on the green format, Goodwin took out first place on a spin from Williams. The modified format of the game realised some good scores as vouchers only went down to 20 points. Greg White and Jim Moyses both scored 22 points, followed by Bruce Jackson, Terry Massara and John Michalak on 21 points, then George Newlands, John Wray and Ron Annandale, each on 20 points. Graham Williams won the best gross voucher with 37 while the day's novelty winners were Steven Ireland (1, 4 and 6), Jim Moyses (7) and Graham Williams (9). Ladies Wednesday: The Wednesday ladies nine-hole summer competition was won in convincing style by Bev Moyses with the good score of 23 points. Runner-up was Olna Turner with 21, followed, on 17 apiece by Lee Massara, Krystyna Scoffern and Sue Earnshaw. Novelties were won by Pat Booth (6) and Nancy Lynn (15). Leisure Day: After a lengthy absence from the fairways due to injury, John Brown made his presence known with a two-shot victory in last Tuesday's leisure day comp. He claimed the first place carton trophy with his score of 38 points, two shots better than runner-up Clive Pullan, on 36 who took second place on a countback from Dale Edgley, also on 36. Phil Warburton won the best vet award with his return of 36. Graham Williams, Kevin Ireland and Tony Barker-May each scored 35, while Keith Godfrey and Charlie Buemi rounded out the vouchers with their 34-point return. Novelties: Fred Bronickis (4), Charlie Buemi (7), Ed Riley (9), Steven Ireland (14) and Mick Jack (18). Up-coming: This Saturday's event is the Muja Lads' two-ball classic. Rules and scoring system will be on the specially made scorecard. Novelties will be on all holes. Summer Open nominations are available at the club or online.
