Veteran Ed Riley was in fine touch last Saturday, winning the 18-hole stableford competition, sponsored by the Rambone group.
With his exquisite short game in place, Riley compiled 42 stableford points to win the day by one shot.
In the runner-up position, scoring 41 points, was Paul Goodwin. He played a great round and has been a very steady player in recent times.
In third place was the enigmatic Jay Robinson who gave a polished display to finish the day with a tidy 40 points total.
Joel Simmonds also played a good round, finishing the day in fourth place with his 38 points return.
Neil Motion played to his handicap, posting 36 points, while Brad Swan, Joe Italiano and Ken Tate were a further shot behind, each finishing with 35 points.
Vouchers were paid to Alan Kent Chris Mead, each on 34 points, then Jim Lee, Kevin Ireland and Clayton Flynn with 33 points apiece.
Rounding out the vouchers, each with 32 points, were George Dorozenko, Dale Edgley, Fred Bronickis and Hugh Annandale.
In the ladies competition, Vicki Graham won on a countback from Debbie Van Vollenstee and Bev Moyses.
All three ladies returned the score of 33 points.
The sponsors provided novelties in conjunction with the normal Saturday novelties and all of these were well appreciated by all winners.
Scroungers
Kevin Ireland reduced his scroungers handicap by three shots when he took out first place, on a spin, in last Thursday's nine-hole scroungers competition.
Ireland's score of 19 stableford points was matched by Jim Moyses and Dave Blurton.
One shot behind, each on 18 points were John Jackson, Ed Riley, Greg White, Wayne Waywood, Jim Tyler and Ross Davidson.
Dave Blurton's 38 off-the-stick was the day's best gross score.
Novelties went to Dave Blurton (4), Ray Cooper (6) and Alan Kent (9).
Ladies Wednesday
In a three-way countback, Bev Moyses was the winner in last Wednesday's nine hole ladies competition.
Bev's score of 18 points was also recorded by runner-up, Vicki Graham and third placed, Olna Turner.
Eileen Riley came fourth with her tally of 17 points.
Novelties went to Sue Earnshaw (4) and Marg Whipp (9).
Leisure Day
Narrogin's Jim Lee was the two shot winner in last Tuesday's 18-hole leisure day competition.
Lee scored 40 stableford points to take first place from John Brown, runner-up, on 38 points.
In third place was Fred Bronickis, on 37 points, followed by Richard Chadwick on 36 points. \
Pat Coll and Stephen Farquhar rounded out the vouchers, each finishing with 35 points.
Phil Warburton won the day's best vet award with his score of 37 points.
Novelties were won by Alan Kent (4), Richard Chadwick (7 and 18), Phil Warburton (9) and Jay Robinson (14).
