The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development has come up with a new idea to better connect with the Collie community.
With support from the South West Development Commission and the Collie Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the department will be hosting a free 'local projects, local opportunities' workshop on February 19.
Held at the CCCI's headquarters from 5.30pm, the workshop will provide details about state government procurement opportunities and upcoming local projects.
Attendees will get the chance to meet with department and SWDC representatives.
"We encourage representatives from local businesses to come along and learn more about how the state government buys goods and services, contracting for local government, and accessing government procurement opportunities," SWDC chief executive Mellisa Teede said.
"The SWDC works to make the South-West region an even better place to live, work and invest - and we continue to be committed to Collie's development in partnership with the newly-formed Collie Delivery Unit with the Department of Premier and Cabinet."
Chamber chief executive Bec Woods said they were committed to working closely with the local workforce, the government, and the SWDC.
"A service agreement (SA12 form) is a pre-approval to be eligible to supply state government works under $50,000," she said.
"The CCCI is lifting their profile and being proactive in the local procurement space, building capability and up-skilling their members to register for a SA12 agreement to be in the running for upcoming government contracts."
