New Roadhouse Owners
Joel and Anna Eddy have recently reopened the Darkan Roadhouse.
Joel has plenty of experience in the industry having worked the last five years for BP operating roadhouses in the metro and south-west areas.
The couple has big plans for the business including getting Pearl phone recharge cards as well as a tobacco selling licence and hopefully a Lotto licence.
Joel is keen to work with the community, already providing a senior's meal option on his menu and has very reasonable prices.
Joel and Anna have plans to be in Darkan and run the roadhouse for a long time and hope to pass the business onto family one day to continue operating.
The Darkan Road House is open from 6am to 6pm every day so be sure to call in and support local business.

Encouraging Flu Vaccinations
The Immunisation Foundation of Australia is awarding $1000 for the most outstanding image of someone being vaccinated this flu season, in honour of Lucy DeLuis who died of influenza at just two years old.
The image can be of an adult or child, and can be during the immunisation process or shortly afterwards.
Two little locals girls, Scarlett and Vivienne Allington dressed in their superhero capes last week for their immunisations and looked super cute!

Win for Shopping Local
Arthur River's Sam Burgess was the first winner of the #shoplocalwestarthur competition currently underway and supported by the Shire of West Arthur and the West Arthur CRC.
Just shop in a local West Arthur story or share a picture of something great you've seen in a local store.
Use the hashtag #shoplocalwestarthur and post to the Buy and Sell Darkan, Shire or West Arthur CRC Facebook Page or on Instagram to go into the next month's draw for another $50 Community Cash Voucher.
Sam has donated his Community Cash Voucher to the staff at the Darkan Primary School to put towards some morning tea as a thank you for the great work they are doing during the Covid-19 period.
