Collie Power Soccer Club took to the field last Sunday as both the Men's and Women's teams hosted Bunbury United Soccer Club.
Both Collie teams put on a strong performance with a valiant 6-0 win for the Women's team and a dominant 8-1 win for the Men's team.
The women's game started out as an intense and ferocious affair before Tara Hollins skilfully evaded three defenders and scored decisively in the bottom corner.
This goal was soon followed by Tahya Magill deftly chipped the goalkeeper from a tight angle.
After half-time, Bunbury United seemed to lift as the game entered a critical stage; however, Bonny Berridge broke the offside trap and artfully scored twice inside five minutes.
As the game entered the closing stages, Sarah Vansnick, playing at left-back, added two more to seal an emphatic 6-0 win.
The men's game also promised to be a high scoring affair, and Jac Hollins, true to his pre-game prediction, opened the scoring within five minutes with a blistering run and calm finish.
Mark Mbappe soon doubled the score after receiving a delightful through ball from Chris Vennitti.
It was then the Collie Power's Dutch import, Jaring Rypma, showed his true potential scoring five unanswered goals, one an overhead screamer from outside the box.
Bunbury United showed spirit to draw a goal back from a penalty, but nothing could stop Collie's smooth passing, possession-based football.
Hayden De Angelis put the icing on the cake late in the game with a neat outside of the boot curler to complete an 8-1 victory.
With the Women's team moving into sixth position on the ladder, and the Men's securing fourth, Collie Power Soccer Club will now host Dalyellup next Sunday 26th of July, which promises to be critical match in the chase for glory this season.
Women's kick off at 11am, Men's at 1pm.
