It’s our favourite time of the week – a chance to reflect on the changes in our region, the faces and the fun that was being had during December 2007.
There was a lot going on around Collie at the time in December 2007.
Many Christmas parties and functions were held across a number of community groups and organisations.
There were also a lot of donations from local organisations to give back to those who were less fortunate at Christmas time.
A teaching program being run by Collie primary schools was recognised by the State Government as the winner of the Primary School section of the 2007 Count Us in Awards. The award recognised how all the schools worked together to assist a significant number of students with disabilities and learning difficulties.
Two Collie Senior High School students were awarded scholarships to help them in their chosen careers. Dylan Mordecai and Michael Atkinson were awarded with automotive scholarships, chosen out of 55 entrants.
Emma Harms and Keira Blythe were also awarded with a School Apprenticeship Link Program in hairdressing.
