Throwback Thursday – Photos from the Collie Mail in June 1998

It’s our favourite time of the week – a step back in time to reflect on the changes in our region, the faces and the fun that was being had during the month of June 1998.

There was a lot going on in the region at the time.

The annual Griffin Festival wound up for another year.

Nicole Studman was crowned Collie’s Miss Showgirl for 1998.

An electrical fault in a switchboard at the Collie Power Station started a fire which cost an estimated $2 million dollars worth of damage.

A bus shelter was built outside the Visitor Centre.

What was your favourite memory of June 1998?
